Trinity (Texas) 67, Caltech 41

GEORGETOWN, Tex. — The Trinity men's basketball team defeated California Institute of Technology 67-41 on Saturday evening, earning the team a weekend split at the Southwestern/Trinity Thanksgiving Classic.
Trinity (4-1) led 36-16 at halftime on the strength of a 25-4 run to start the game. Early in the second half, the Tigers opened the lead up to 28 points with a 10-0 run

Andy Bates led three Trinity players in double figures, scoring 13 points on 5-10 shooting in 15 minutes off the bench. Casey Hill finished with 12 points and six rebounds in just 16 minutes, and James Lake hit all of his shots (three field goals - two three-pointers - and two free throws) for 10 points.

Mitch Walker led the team with three assists, adding five points and one steal, while Jay Riola collected six boards to go with his six points.

Trinity will host Southwestern next Thursday, December 1, in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
