The Gators led briefly in the first half by as many as three, five minutes into the contest, before the Yellow Jackets started pulling away, increasing their first-half lead to as many as 20, before heading into the locker room with a 19-point halftime lead.
Casey McCloskey (Erie/Cathedral Prep), pictured, was the exception to the game’s shooting woes, as he hit 9 of 11 shots (.818%) from the field, and all three of his three-point attempts for a game-high 26 points. Ryan Hollihan (Saxonburg/Knoch) added 10 while Bill Babe (Pittsburgh/Mt. Lebanon) was just off of the double figure pace with nine. Hollihan pulled down nine rebounds, while McCloskey dished out a team-high five assists.
Baldwin-Wallace hit 62.7% (37 of 59) from the field, including a blistering 70.4% (19 of 27) in the second half. The Yellow Jackets put five players in double figures, led by Tori Davis’ 19. Dan Gundert scored 13 points, Dennis Santiago 11 while Keith Aufmuth and Chad Clark each added 10.
Allegheny comes back tomorrow to take on the Eagles of Juniata College, who fell 78-59 to the Britons of Albion College in the first game of the afternoon, with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m.
