The Gophers (0-4) led by as many as seven points and the Maroons by as many as six in the first half, which ended with Goucher ahead by a point, 38-37.
The lead changed hand four times in the first 1:37 of the second half before the Gophers tied the score at 45-45 on a layup by Justin Ajose with 18:06 showing on the clock. On their next possession, the Maroons (4-0) went ahead to stay on a three-point basket by Tee Jackson.
Jackson was one of four double-digit scorers for Roanoke as he contributed 17 points to the victory. Ben Shrader was the Maroons' leading scorer, coming off the bench to collect 20 points. Josh LaPorte and Ben Lawler added 10 points apiece.
Garritt was the Gophers' leading scorer and rebounder as he wound up with 25 points and nine boards. Russo drained six shots from three-point range on the way to a 22-point performance.
The Gophers are winless four games into a season for the first time since 1990-91, which was the inaugural year for Goucher's men's basketball program.
