MEN'S BASKETBALL ... Warhawks Top Anderson 87-76



The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater defeated Anderson University 87-76 at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium in Anderson, Indiana Friday night.

The game was tied 29-29 with 4:45 left in the first half, but a three-point play and a lay in by Warhawk center Josh King (so, Janesville/Craig) helped UW-W close out the half with a 38-32 lead. Anderson never led in the second half, and UW-W led by as many as 15 several times.

UW-W shot 61% from the floor, including 78% (7-9) from three-point range in the win. Senior guard Jeremy Manchester (Racine/St. Catherine's) led UW-W with 26 points, going 5-5 from beyond the arc. Manchester also contributed a team highs in rebounds (7) and assists (5) and did not have a turnover in 38 minutes. Junior center Andy Freund (Wauwatosa/East) and junior forward Mike Toellner (Mayville) each chipped in with 14 points, and forward Rob Perry (so, Milwaukee/Dominican) added 12.

Anderson was led by forward J.D. Clampett and center Nick Rogers, both with 19 points. Guard Lloyd DeLoatch added 15. Roger also had a game-high eight rebounds.

UW-W upped its mark to 2-1, and Anderson, and member of the Heartland Conference, is 2-2.

Whitewater will play at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wiscosnin Monday, November 28. The home opener will be Wednesday, December 7f at 7:00, with UW-Stevens Point visiting Kachel Gym in Williams Center.
