Salisbury held a 40-32 lead at the break before the Shoremen trimmed the lead to 44-40 with 17:07 left in the second half. The Sea Gulls then went on a 10-0 run in just 1:24 of playing time to push the lead to 54-40 on a three-pointer by Rice with 15:43 left. The Sea Gulls led by at least six points the rest of the way and made 12-of-13 free throws in the final 2:39 to ice the game.
Rice went 7-for-11 from the field, 3-for-5 from beyond the three-point arc, and 8-of-9 at the charity stripe en route to his 25 points. He also dished out four assists and grabbed five rebounds. Ray Williams added 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Segun Odumeru added 16 points. Kyle Harmon scored 10 points for the Sea Gulls, while Ozi Menakaya grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Junior forward Joey Breslin matched his career high of 24 points, grabbed a career-best 15 rebounds, and blocked three shots to lead the Shoremen. Senior forward Jonathan Webb shot 11-of-12 from the free-throw line and finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Senior guard Kyle Stem added 10 points in the loss.
The Sea Gulls shot 48% from the floor in the game and connected on 7-of-14 three-point field goal attempts and 20-of-22 free throw attempts. The Shoremen shot just 30% from the field in the game, but did make 26-of-32 free throws and out-rebounded Salisbury, 49-38.
