Texas Lutheran improved to 2-1 overall and to 1-0 in the ASC.
Schreiner fell to 0-1 overall and to 0-1 in the ASC.
Hudson scored 18 of his 22 in the first half as the Bulldogs opened an 11-point edge.
Nelson scored 16 of his 20 in the second half as TLU led by as many as 17.
TLU played most of the game without leading scorer Hunter Holsonback, who left the game early in the first half with a leg injury. The Bulldogs also played Tuesday without starting post Jerrod Carpenter and reserve post Brian Alves. Both Alves and Carpenter are injured.
The Bulldogs received help off the bench from Billy Williams, who added nine points and five rebounds.
Texas Lutheran out-rebounded Schreiner by 11, 49-38. Nelson led all players with 13 rebounds. Hudson and point guard Jason Morales added six and five rebounds, respectively.
Schreiner received 10 points from Joseph Davis and 10 from Lance Hrncir. The Mountaineers shot 32.8 percent from the field, 21.9 percent from the three-point line and 40.7 percent from the free throw line. Schreiner was 11-for-27 from the foul line.
Texas Lutheran returns to action this Saturday and Monday with road games at LeTourneau (Saturday at 7:30 p.m.) and at East Texas Baptist (Monday at 7:30 p.m.).
