McDaniel led by as many as nine points in the first half following a pair of free throws by Mike Dipiero with 5:07 to play that gave the Green Terror a 38-29 advantage, but Washington sliced the lead to 41-38 by halftime. The Shoremen came out hot in the second half, scoring the first eight points to take a 46-43 lead on a lay-up by senior forward Jonathan Webb with 17:49 to go. McDaniel responded with five straight points to retake the lead and later led by nine points at 60-51 following a jumper by Ryan Finch with 13:18 to go.
Washington came back to regain the lead two more times and the score was tied at 77-77 following a Webb lay-up with 3:09 left. McDaniel's Mike Dipiero drained a three on the ensuing possession to give the Green Terror the lead for good at 80-77. McDaniel held an 81-77 lead with 2:05 to play before a steal and lay-up by the Green Terror's Chris Rutland pushed the lead to six with 2:01 left. McDaniel led by at least four points the rest of the way.
Will Talesnick scored 24 points on 8-for-9 shooting from the field, including a 4-of-5 performance from beyond the three-point line and dished out five assists to lead the way for the Green Terror. Mike Dipiero tallied a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Ryan Finch added 21 points, while Chad Arrington scored 14 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Webb led all players with 28 points and 10 rebounds for Washington. Senior forward Scott Polyniak scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while freshman guard Tim Kohlrus tallied a career-high 14 points. Senior guard Kyle Stem was named to the All-Tournament Team and finished the game with nine points and a team-high five assists.
McDaniel shot 49% from the field, while Washington shot 43%. The Shoremen held a 48-38 advantage on the boards, but the Green Terror's eight three-pointers in the game helped offset that differential.
