Irving, TX — In Sunday afternoon’s final game of the UD Tip-Off Classic, the University of Dallas Crusaders lost a hard fought battle to the Millsaps College Majors, 57-60.

It was a seesaw contest throughout the first half until the Majors increased the lead to 7. With less then three minutes to play in the half, the Crusaders showed their resiliency by cutting into the deficit and ultimately tying the game at 30 on Corey Loverson’s lay-up as time expired.

The second half was déjà vu all over again as the Majors jumped out to a seven point lead with under four minutes to play. The pesky Crusaders came back and appeared to have the game within reach before a succession of seven misses at the line took the Crusaders out of the running. With one last shot at end of the game heroics, Loverson’s 3 pointer came up short, and so did the efforts of the team. Loverson (15 points), J.K. Nickell (9), and Robert Nickell (8) paced the Crusader offense.

The 57-60 loss drops the Crusaders to 0-2 on the season. Next up for UD is a game against Cal Tech on Wednesday, November 23rd. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m
