Manchester 81, Rockford 64

MANCHESTER, Ind. — Sunday afternoon, the Regents took on the Spartans of Manchester College for the last game of the Manchester Tournament. This game looked to be as promising as the last at the half, when the score was Spartans 35, Regents 31, but the second half failed to deliver. About five minutes into the second half, the Spartans began to extend their lead until it was flirting with double digits with 12:00 left on the clock. With about 8:39 remaining, the Spartans managed to keep their lead in double-digits. While the Regents ran the margin up and down, they could never quite break it back below ten. When the final buzzer sounded, the Regents had fallen 81-64. Leading scorers for the Regents were Mitch McCracken with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Maurice Smith with 10 points and 2 rebounds. McCracken and Smith were both named to the All-Tournament team, where McCracken took the Tournament MVP title as well.
