The Warhawks defeated Robert Morris College, 68-51, on Saturday, November 17, at the North Central Tournament in Naperville, IL.
The Warhawks were down 5-0 at the beginning of the game and then tied the game up 5-5 at 17:49. The Warhawks then went on an 11 point run with a score of 11-18. Robert Morris came back at 4:13 in the half tying the game at 26-26. The last time Robert Morris was in reach of the Warhawks was at the beginning of the second half at 33-33. The Warhawks were up by as much as 17 points through the second half at 47-64 with 2:29 left in the game.
Jeremy Manchester (Racine/St. Catherine's) led the Warhawks with 16 points, five assists and five rebounds. Andy Freund (Wauwatosa/East) followed close behind scoring 13 points for the Warhawks, three assists and seven rebounds. Robert Morris' Corley Lee, led both teams in points, scoring 17. The Warhawks shot 46 percent from the field and 83 percent from the line.
The Warhawks are now 1-1 for the season and Robert Morris at 0-2.
In day one of North Central Tournament, the Warhawks lost to the Loras Duhawks, 71-73 on Friday and Robert Morris lost to North Central 72-88.
The Warhawks are ranked 13th in the NCAA Division III preseason poll conducted by D3hoops.com. The Warhawks next game will be Friday, November 25 at Anderson University in Anderson, IN at 8:00. The Warhawks home opener will be Wednesday, December 7th at 7:00 pm against UW-Stevens Point in the Kachel Gym. Stevens Point is in the others receiving category in the D3hoops.com preseason poll.
