Kean 65, Hunter 45

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Kean University’s BJ Hamby (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored 16 points, and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Cougars to a 65-45 victory over Hunter College in the consolation game of the Lycoming College Tournament on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Cougars pick up their first win of the season and even their record at 1-1, while the Hawks fall to 0-2.

Kean jumped out a 24-16 halftime lead behind seven points by Hamby and six each from Miller (Trenton, N.J.) and Armet Coles, Jr. (Staten Island, N.Y.). Overall in the game the Cougars dominated in the paint outscoring Hunter 44-14, while also outscoring the Hawks 21-10 from the bench.

For Kean, Miller and Bryan Keller (Piscataway, N.J.) added to a balanced scoring attack finishing with 10 points apiece. Senior Coles added eight points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Lamar Wright (Galloway, N.J.) also chipped in with six points.

Kean will next be in action Tuesday, November 22 when they travel to play William Paterson University at 8 p.m in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opener for both schools.
