New London, Conn.--Sophomore Christian Mosley (Virginia Beach, Va.) poured in a game-high 20 points, propelling Connecticut College (1-0) to a 78-53 victory over Eastern Nazarene College (0-2) at Luce Fieldhouse Saturday night. Mosley shot a perfect 6-for-6 from three point range and was 7-for-8 from the floor. Sophomore Charles Stone (Hackensack, N.J.) contributed with 13 point and 12 boards en route to a double-double. Ulises Veras (Lawrence, Mass.) chipped in with 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the floor. Sophomore Jeff Young (E. Hartford, Conn.) added 10 points for the Camels.
Chris Corey (Brockton, Mass.) canned a team-high 16 points for the Crusaders. Sophomore Luc Jasmin (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished with 13 points and seven boards for ENC.
The Camels jumped on the Crusaders early, opening the game with a 16-0 run over the first 6:10. The Camels made four threes during the stretch and shot 50% (13-for-26) from long distance for the evening. Trailing 34-19 at the half, ENC opened the second stanza with an effective 12-2 run. Ryan Seaberg (Cheyenne, Wyo.) capped the rally with a triple at 15:36 and it was a 36-31 lead.
CC used a zone defense to pull away from the Crusaders. The Camels reeled off a lethal 15-0 run to pull away on their home court. Freshman Will Lyons (Wilbraham, Mass.) canned back-to-back field goals to cap the rally and the Camels enjoyed a comfortable 51-31 lead with 9:39 to play.
The hosts were easily able to hold on for the 78-53 victory.
