ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The 2005 Davanni’s Tip Off Tournament ended tonight as the Bethel University Men’s Basketball team prevailed with the championship trophy in a 79-68 win over the V-Hawks from Viterbo University. Led by senior Trent Perry, 20 points, the Royals now hold a 2-0 record. Other top performers for the Royals included Isaac Hinrichs, who finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Tyson Bjorklund, who had 12 points and 3 assists. Andy Cook came off the bench to score eight points and collect four rebounds in nine minutes of play. Viterbo Univeristy’s Greg Kumlien, Justin Kirking, Jeremy Fradette, and Tim Porterfield each ended the game in double figures with 23, 10, 15, and 16 points, respectively. Fradette also had 15 boards for a double-double, and Kumlien finished the game with 7 assists. The Royals travel to play Minnesota-Morris on November 22nd. Tip off is at 7 p.m.
