Pitt-Greensburg 81, Penn Tech 69

Huntingdon, PA — The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg Men's Basketball team advanced to the Championship Game of the "Doc" Greene Tournament at Juniata College by defeating Penn-Tech, 81-69, in the first round.

Pacing the Bobcats was senior guard Duke Cooper (Reston, VA/South Lakes/Robert Morris) with 18 points and eight assists. Freshman guard Matt Rowland (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) and junior forward Bill Scavincky (Irwin, PA/Penn-Trafford) added 18 and 17 points respectively.

Senior point guard David Winfrey (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown) scored 10 points and added six assists, but was forced to leave with a wrist injury after playing only 14 minutes. His status for the championship game is uncertain.

The Bobcats will next face tournament host Juniata College in the Finals on Saturday. The Golden Eagles routed Lancaster Bible in their opening game by a score of 81-39. The championship game is set for 8:00 PM.
