Harrigan was joined in double figures by senior Jay McAdams-Thornton and sophomore Dain Swetalla. McAdams-Thornton had 19 points on eight of 13 from the floor and three of four from the free throw line while Swetalla scored 14 points on five of eight from the field and four of four from the charity stripe.
Augustana pounded the Crusaders on the boards, holding a 38-25 advantage with Swetalla leading the way with eight and Harrigan adding seven. The Vikings shot .571 (28-49) from the floor, including .625 (5-8) from three point range.
With the score tied at 29-29 heading into the final minute of the first half, Nate Swetalla nailed a three point field goal to give the Vikings a 32-29 lead with :58 left to play. That was the score at halftime and Augustana never trailed in the second half, although it was tied with 10:38 left (52-52) before a three pointer and a free throw by Harrigan and a basket by Drew Wessels pushed the advantage to 58-52 with 7:50 left.
The lead climbed as high as nine (64-73) with 1:27 left on a free throw by Harrigan but with :13 left a basket by Clarke’s DeMonte Bynum trimmed the advantage to three (76-73). One free throw by McAdams-Thornton and two by Harrigan accounted for the final margin. The Vikings piled up 17 assists with Wessels, McAdams-Thornton, Dain Swetalla and Jordan Delp each collecting three.
