The Chargers (21-6) led the Owls (15-11) by 28 at the half, 48-20, a lead Keene State cut to just 12 less than five minutes into the second half. Keene State outscored Colby-Sawyer 16-2 in the first 2:17 of the half, keyed by four straight three-pointers, but the Chargers gathered themselves and slowly build the lead back up to 19 on a three-pointer by James Thorpe (Concord, N.H.) with just under 14 minutes left in the game.
Andrew St. Clair (Pittsfield, Maine) was nearly unstoppable for the Chargers, scoring 16 of Colby-Sawyer's first 36 points. He scored 22 points in the first half and finished with 29 for the game to go along with his game-high 13 rebounds.
A trio of Chargers also recorded double-figures on the night, with Pat Kenny (Wethersfield, Conn.) scoring 16, Thorpe adding 14 and Collin Bray (Brookline, Mass.) scoring 10.
Sean Sullivan (Athol, Mass.) scored 14 points to lead Keene State. His 14th point on a free throw with 7:10 remaining in the game was his 1,000th career point, making him the 25th player in Keene State history to reach that milestone.
Colby-Sawyer will face Rhode Island College in the semifinals. The date and time of that game will be announced on Thursday morning.
