Milwaukee Engineering 81, Wisconsin Lutheran 77

Milwaukee, Wis. — MSOE upends Wisconsin Lutheran

Milwaukee – Jeff Mikos scored 22 points and Neil Trainor added 20 as the MSOE men’s basketball team defeated Wisconsin Lutheran, 81-77, in Lake Michigan Conference action on Saturday.

The Raiders outscored the Warriors 44-31 in the second half to hand Lutheran only its second conference loss. The Warriors carried a 55-44 lead three minutes into the second half. Then MSOE put together a 12-3 run to get to within three points.

Both teams stayed tight all the way till the end. With the Raiders leading 79-77 with 22 seconds remaining, Mikos drained a pair of clutch free throws for the game’s final score.

Robert Verdun added 15 points for MSOE, going 5-of-6 from three-point land. Mikos led the Raiders with 7 rebounds and 7 asssists.

Lewis Jiles led the Warriors with 25 points.

MSOE improved to 3-5 in the LMC, 8-11 overall. Lutheran fell to 5-2 in the LMC, 9-10 overall.
