WAYNESBURG, Pa. — A second-half shooting surge by Westminster College was the deciding factor on Saturday night, as the Waynesburg College men's basketball team lost its third conference game of the season, 113-98. In the loss, the Yellow Jackets shot a season-best 56 percent from the field, but committed 23 turnovers, which were turned into 38 Titan points.PrAC Westminster (Pa.) Titans

The game featured a combined 82 three-pointers, including 66 by the Titans. Westminster shot 30.3 percent from beyond the arc on 20-of-66 attempts. Waynesburg slowed down the pace of the game by attempting only 16 three-pointers.
The Yellow Jackets were able broke the full-court press of the Titans on numerous occasions and capitalized on fast-break opportunities, scoring 72 fast-break points.
Sophomore forward Shawn Coleman led all scores with a career-high 22 points on 11-of-17 attempts. He collected a game and career-high 13 rebounds against the Titans for his second career double-double and first of the season.
Senior captain Ray Gillespie also scored a career-high for Waynesburg on Saturday, netting 18 points on 8 of 11 shooting.
Gillespie's backcourt mate, Beau Wilson, also netted 18 points in the losing effort.
Waynesburg led the game by six points, 74-68, with 12:53 remaining in the game, before Westminster took control of the game. The Titans used a 38-14 run in the ensuing 10 minutes, to take the lead and the score in triple digits, 106-88.
Seven Titan players, including four starters, scored in double digits, led by 14 points from Mark DeMonaco and Craig Hannon. Pat O'Connor posted a double double in the win with 10 points and 10 boards.
Waynesburg (8-11, 2-3) returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 1 when it travels to South Euclid, Ohio to face Notre Dame in non-conference action. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
