The 140 points scored by Randolph-Macon is the most in a single game since the 1956-57 season, which is when program records date back to, and also sets an ODAC record. It was the fourth straight win for the Yellow Jackets, and makes them 12-7 overall and 10-3 in the conference. The Wasps fall to 6-12 on the season and 3-8 in the ODAC.
Randolph-Macon sophomore guard Adam Krovic (Durham, NC/Jordan) scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-14 (71.4%) shooting, and also had six rebounds and a career-high six assists. Senior guard Justin Moyer (Landisville, PA/Hempfield) totaled a career-high 19 points, making 10-of-12 (83.3%) foul shots, and also handed out six assists. Junior guard Patrick Gill (Richmond, VA/Benedictine School) had a career and game-high 12 assists.
After a brief tie at 2-2, it appeared that Randolph-Macon would dominate the game. The advantage for the Yellow Jackets was double digits for much of the first half, with the biggest lead at 17 points, 68-51, late in the first half. Randolph-Macon led by 13 points at halftime, 70-57.
The Wasps would make a comeback attempt. With Randolph-Macon leading by 16 points, 73-57, early in the second period, Emory & Henry put together a 15-4 run to reduce the deficit to five points, 77-72, at the 15:23 mark.
That was as close as the Wasps would get, but they did keep things interesting down the stretch. Randolph-Macon extended the lead to double figures again, only to have the visitors get to within six points, 107-101, with 6:54 remaining. The Yellow Jackets put the game away in the last two minutes, outscoring Emory & Henry 12-2, including six points by Hawley.
For Randolph-Macon, following the performances by Hawley, Krovic, Moyer, and Gill, freshman center Andrew Baker (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) totaled 13 points and six rebounds – all defensive. He made all four of his field goal attempts. Junior forward Justin Wansley (Richmond, VA/Henrico) added 12 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and a game-high three blocked shots. He had 15 defensive rebounds. Sophomore guard Loren Sisson (Virginia Beach, VA/Cape Henry Collegiate) scored a career-high eight points, making all three of his shots from the floor.
Emory & Henry was led by sophomore guard Lance Reasbeck (Satellite Beach, FL/Satellite Beach), with 29 points, six rebounds, and four assists. He set an ODAC record with 19 three-point shot attempts. Sophomore guard Hank Luton (Summerville, SC/Sea Island) totaled 23 points and three steals. Freshman guard Brandon Reid (Belmont, NC/Highland) added 11 points. Senior forward Cortez Watson (Orlando, FL/Oak Ridge) and freshman guard Shavar Bland (Newport News, VA/Warwick) each scored 10 points. Watson also had a team-high 10 rebounds, while Jones grabbed five rebounds.
