Blackburn 85, MacMurray 84

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — It was a heartbreaking loss at home for the MacMurray Highlanders but they couldn't hit a shot at crunch time and fell to Blackburn 85-84. It was an evenly fought game all day long as the statistics will prove but, it went the way of the "Battlin Beavers" and the Highlanders will have to regroup and win some games on the road. This was the 2nd home loss for MacMurray in a conference where you have to protect your home court advantage. Blackburn was led by Essington (22), Nick Barnett (21), Djedovic (15) and Corey Waters (11) as they improved to 5-2 in the SLIAC. The Highlanders had 16 players in the scoring column as Robinson (12) and Kowa (11) led the way. It was a fun basketball game to watch, between two evenly matched teams, but the loss put some pressure on MacMurray and it will be interesting to see how they respond as they fight for a spot in the conference play offs.
