The Saxons (9-9, 3-4 Empire 8) struggled from the floor, hitting 32 percent of their shots. After being held to 15 points in the first half, the Saxons dropped 35 in the final period, but could not take the lead.
Junior guard Quentin Bryant (Buffalo, NY/Seneca Vocational) was the only Saxon to score in double figures, finishing with 13 points to go along with two steels. Freshman guard Garlan Patt (Nelson, PA/Elkland Area) and sophomore forward Ryan Clemenson (Ovid, NY/South Seneca) chipped in with nine and eight points respectively. Sophomore forward Jermel Brown (Wolcott, NY/North Rose Wolcott) recorded a team-high eight rebounds to go with six points.
Junior forward Brian Andruskiewicz (Oakdale, CT/Montville) scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Ithaca (8-9, 4-3 Empire 8). Junior guard Jim Bellis (Bloomfield, NY/Bloomfield) had a game-high 16 points, while junior guard Jonathan Whetstone (Palo Alto, CA/Palo Alto) dished out six assists.
The Saxons will be in action next on Friday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m., at Nazareth College. Ithaca will host Hartwick on Friday, Feb, 4, at 8 p.m.
