The Cowboys jumped to a big lead in the first half and never looked back. Five players hit double figures for HSU – led by freshman Robert Yeatts’ 13. Zach Pickelman and Mardochee Jean each had 12 points, Calvin Nite added 11 and James Peters had 10.
The game was marred by fouls with the teams combining for 54 fouls and 71 free throws in the game. HSU had a 46-29 advantage on the boards.
The win moved the Cowboys to 13-5 overall and 11-4 in ASC Conference play. Schreiner fell to 1-16 overall and 1-14 in conference play. HSU plays at cross-town rival McMurry, Monday in the Kiwanis Crosstown Shootout.
