Fisk 101, Thomas More 87

NASHVILLE, TN — Despite having four scorers in double figures, led by Andrae Woodard's 26 points, Thomas More fell to Fisk University, 101-87, Saturday at the Henderson A. Johnson gym.

The two teams battled to five ties in the first five minutes of the contest before the Bulldogs scored the next seven points. Five quick points by TMC got the deficit down to two, but Fisk answered with eight straight to push the lead to 10.

Four straight points by Woodard and a layup by Chad Wachs helped TMC get to within five. Unfortunately, they would get no closer.

Although, the deficit continue to swell, the Thomas More effort never wavered. However, they could overcome a hot shooting night from the host.

Wachs finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and team-high's in assists (3) and blocks (3). R.K. Thurman and E.J. Haynes each recorded double-doubles for the Saints. Thurman has 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Haynes finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Fisk was led by Jeremiah Williamson, who connected on his first 10 shots for a game-high 27. Chris Adams added 14 points, while Marquis Patton chipped in with 12.

Thomas More (7-11) has now lost six of their seven roads games, and will return to action Tuesday with they travel to face Asbury.
