The Tigers led by just one at the break, 25-24, and scored first in the second half on a jumper by Lewek. BC answered with a jumper by Ricky Easterling and then took the lead with a pair of free throws – one by Josh Maupin and one by Clay Michael.
The Tigers regained the lead, 30-28 on a 3-pointer by Drew Prehmus. The Prehmus shot ignited a 10-0 run that was capped by a three-point play by Davis Bowne, giving the Tigers a 37-28 lead.
The Eagles never got closer than eight the rest of the way.
The Tigers, now 12-7 overall and 7-5 in the ODAC, were led by Drew Prehmus with 14 points. Kevin Forrester added 12 for the Tigers and Aaron Lewek finished with 10. Ricky Easterling led the Eagles with 24 points despite being saddled by foul problems throughout the game. Easterling was limited to just 23 minutes. Ashby Tarkington also reached double figures with 12.
Hampden-Sydney owned the boards in the second half and finished with a 37-27 advantage for the game. Bridgewater entered the game leading the ODAC in rebounding margin. BC also entered the game leading the conference in field goal shooting, but Saturday the Eagles made just 37.8 percent of its shots.
