TACOMA, Wash. — Drew Cardwell scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for Pacific Lutheran, but Puget Sound's high-powered offensive proved too much for the Lutes to overcome in a 115-89 loss to the Loggers in Northwest Conference men's basketball action at UPS' Memorial Fieldhouse.

Andrew Peterson chipped in a career-high 13 points and Michael Torbenson and Matt Sinnes both tallied 11 points for the Lutes, now 5-11 overall and 3-4 in the conference. Zack McVey led Puget Sound (12-3, 6-1 NWC) in scoring with 28 points and he had a game high 14 rebounds.

The Lutes shot 65.6% from the field (21-32) in the first half to keep the game close. But PLU was also whistled for 24 fouls in the opening half, with Puget Sound converting 21-32 attempts from the charity stripe. The Loggers led 60-51 at halftime.

The Lutes got to within eight points, 68-60, at the 17:32 mark of the second half. But Puget Sound soon built their lead up to 14 points and cruised to the win.
