The Panthers had a substantial height advantage over the Privateers and it showed as they were shut down from inside the key. Relying mainly on three pointer and jump shots, the Privateers began to struggle early and just couldn’t seem to break through the Old Westbury defense. Bracaglia was the only Privateer to score in double-digits, but did have three players tied with seven points. Senior forward Sal Clark (New York, NY/Out Savior Luther) led the way for the Panthers with 16 points while sophomore guard Roman Pettway (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) added 24. Both Clark and Pettway combined for 9-of-9 from the free throw line and as a team the Panthers shot 93 percent from the line.
The Privateers will get a nice break from as their next game won’t be until Monday the 31st when the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent come to town in yet another Skyline Conference match-up.
