Northfield, VT - Norwich went on a 24-7 run to start the second half and went on to defeat Western New England College, 63-47. Norwich (10-5, 8-2 GNAC) held the Golden Bears (10-7, 6-4) to 17 points in the second half and at one point, held them scoreless for a seven-minute stretch. Norwich was down 30-22 at halftime after WNEC went on a 13-4 run to close out the first half.
The Cadets outrebounded the Golden Bears, 43-34, and held them to 34 percent in field goal shooting. Tim Shedd scored 15 points to lead Norwich, while Geoff Hensley and Rene Cheatham chipped in 14 and 12 points respectively. Jon Godbout topped Western New England with 17 points, while Anthony Charbatji scored 15 points.
Norwich will return to Andrews Hall on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. to host Johnson & Wales, while Western New England will host Suffolk at 1:00 p.m.
