LC's leading scorer was Chris Campbell, who had 18 points. The LC defense contributed heavily to the win as the Wildcats forced 23 Austin College turnovers. LC (8-9, 7-8) also had big contributions from Casey Meador, who scored 14, and Kase Gonzales, who scored 15. J.P. Johnson led Austin with 21 points.
With the win, LC moves two-and-a-half games ahead of Austin (5-12, 4-10) for the last American Southwest Conference Eastern Division playoff spot as four teams from both the East and West Division go to the ASC Championship Tournament in late February.
LC will host Ozarks Saturday afternoon while Austin will travel to Mississippi College.
