The Blazers won their third straight game to improve to 11-6 overall, while Nichols College lost for the fourth time in its last five games to fall to 5-11 overall.
Seyboth’s 22-point effort leaves him three points shy of becoming the third player in team-history to surpass the 1,000-point mark.
The Blazers led 36-32 at intermission, but were never able to shake the Bison until the closing seconds.
Freshman forward Renato Lindmets (Springfield, MA) finished a three-point play after converting a layup and ensuing free throw after being fouled to give the Blazers a 79-71 lead with 3:07 remaining.
Senior guard Anthony Smith (Dover, NJ), however, responded for the Bison with a pair of fastbreak layups in the next 47 seconds to cut Elms College’s lead to 79-75.
Although Nichols College senior guard Casey Butler (East Longmeadow, MA) converted a free throw with 1:04 remaining to pull the Bison to within 81-78, junior forward Lonnie Branyon III (West Haven, CT) knocked down a free throw with 40 seconds remaining and Davis followed with a pair of free throws with 24.6 seconds remaining to give the Blazers the lead for good at 84-78.
Butler led all scorers with a game-high 27 points, including 4 of 6 shooting from 3-point range. Freshman forward Justin Lewis (Hopedale, MA) finished with 18 points and Smith added 15 for the Bison in the loss.
Lindmets recorded his fifth double-double of the year with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore guard John Ancrum (Harlem, NY) added 10 points and a game-high 11 assists for the Blazers in the victory.
Elms College was held scoreless for the game’s first 5:20 before Davis responded with his team’s first nine points– all on 3-pointers. He finished with 12 first half points.
Butler, meanwhile, kept the Bison close as scored 13 of his first half points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field.
