ROCKFORD, Ill. — Maurice Smith scored 16 points and E.J. Avery came off of the bench to add 15 more, as Rockford College defeated Dominican University, 84-45, in a Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference contest. The win improved the Regents to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in the NIIC, while the Stars fell to 7-11 and 2-4 in league.

Mike Jamerson's 14 points and 10 from Maurice Hogan rounded out a quartet of RC players in double-digits. As a team, RC shot 41% from the field.

Joel Carter pulled down 10 rebounds to pace Rockford, while Avery grabbed nine caroms. The Regents out-boarded the Stars by a 51-to-29 margin in the game.

Dominican's Mike Haiduc had double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. He was the only Star in double figure scoring.
