McDaniel battled with Washington the entire game, but the Shoremen would outlast the Terror in the end winning 71-64.
The Terror led for the first four minutes of the game leading 7-6, until Washington's John Alexander converted a lay-up with 15:42 remaining in the half. The Shoremen would never give the lead back to the Terror the rest of the game.
Alexander's lay-up was part of a 12-4 Shoremen run that gave them a 16-8 lead midway through the first half. Washington would maintain a comfortable lead until the Terror made a 10-3 run to finish the half pulling within three, 32-29.
The second half remained close, with the Terror never being more than six points down through the first 10 minutes. That span saw McDaniel pulling within two points on six different occasions, and tying the ball game at 43-43 with 13:54 remaining.
The Shoreman would extend their lead to eight when Jonathan Webb hit two free throws with 9:45 remaining, making the score 56-48 in their favor.
The Terror would once again tie the score at 64-64 with 3:38 left in the game when Sam Anstead made one of two free throws. The Shoremen would pull away with a 7-0 run to finish the game, winning by a final of 71-64.
McDaniel was led by Kyle O'Connor and Anstead who finished with 25 points apiece. Anstead set a new career-high in scoring.
Chris Prior, Josh McKay, and Chris Rutland each finished with seven rebounds. Prior's total was a career-best.
Washington was led by Joe Breslin, who finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Webb added 20 points and 8 rebounds.
McDaniel falls to 3-14, 1-9 in the Centennial, and will be back in action on Saturday, January 29, when they host the Ursinus Bears for a 3:00 PM tip-off.
