Cabrini vs. Waynesburg Nov 29
Matt - who earned his 1,000th point earlier this season - scored 24 points and notched 11 rebounds as the Bethany Bison men earned their 15th win of the season, an 86-61 victory over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets Wednesday in the Hummel Field House.
The Bison started the game in fine fashion by using an early run to cushion their slim margin. By halftime, Bethany (15-3, 3-1 PAC) had built a 44-25 advantage over the conference rival.
Mike Drahos entered the game needing just three points to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau for his career, and the junior from Wheeling, W.Va., did just that. Mike scored 10 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in the win. Scott Mezyk and Brandon Duncan added 14 and 11 points, respectively, in the victory for Bethany.
Waynesburg (8-10, 2-2 PAC) was led by Josh Parisi’s 14 points. Marc Lodovico added 10 points in the losing effort.
Up next for the Bison men is an intriguing match-up against Grove City. The PAC battle will have added weight placed on the outcome as both teams currently rank among the top two teams in the conference.
The Bison men will add some flavor to their Saturday action. Before the men’s contest is scheduled, an alumni game for Bethany graduates will be held at noon. For more information on the contest, contact Head Coach Aaron Huffman at 304-829-7269.
