Wentworth led 9-6 early in the game (14:24 left) after a jump shot by freshman guard Jason DaCosta (Cambridge, Mass.). However, the Chargers outscored the Leopards 20-3 over the next 8:06 to take their largest lead of the half at 26-12 with 6:18 left. Wentworth would cut the lead back down to as few as nine, Colby-Sawyer took an 11-point (32-21) lead into the locker room.
To open the second half, the Chargers held the Leopards scoreless for the first 10:04 and opened a 26-point lead during that stretch. Colby-Sawyer would lead by as much as 30 at 56-26, but Wentworth went on an 18-2 run to close the game.
Junior forward James Thorpe (Concord, N.H.) chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds in the win. For Wentworth, DaCosta scored 11 points.
