The Brewers (10-5, 3-2 Liberty League) were led by ECAC Upstate and Liberty League guard-of-the-week Lawrence Avitabile (Southington, CT/Southington), who, in just 18 minutes of play, scored 18 points, 14 in the second half, on 9 of 12 shooting. Junior Will Byrne (Chelmsford, MA/Concord Academy) was 3 for 7 from downtown and registered 13 points. Senior Aldis Butler (Larkspur, CA/University) added 8 points and 8 rebounds (both career highs) and had one thundering block that drew the Brewer faithful to their feet.
Hartwick (2-12, 0-5 Empire 8) was led by John Montana with 8 points, and Eddie McAdoo and Sterling Green with 7. Tim Kindlon added 6 points and 6 rebounds.
