Endicott 64, University of New England 52

BIDDEFORD, Maine — Endicott College shot a blistering 70.6 percent (12 of 17) from the floor in the second half to overcome a 32-29 halftime deficit en route to a 64-52 victory over the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's basketball action Tuesday evening at the Campus Center.

Junior guard Zach Ellis (Westford, Mass.) scored 12 of his game-high 15 points after intermission to lead four Gull players in double figures.

Endicott turned up the defense in the second half, limiting the Nor'easters to just six points in the opening 10 minutes. Senior Josh Oxton (Center Harbor, N.H.) scored seven points during that stretch to help the Gulls take a 47-38 advantage.

Oxton completed the night with 11 points, four assists and three steals, while sophomore Nemanja Marinkovic (Belgrade, Serbia) contributed 14 points and eight rebounds. Junior Matt George (Dover, N.H.) added 12 points before fouling out with 6:53 to play.

UNE junior Matt McManus (Cumberland, R.I.) made three 3-pointers on his way to a team-best 13 points. Classmate Mark Oliver (Gloucester, Mass.) scored 10. Sophomore Tom Button (Lyndeborough, N.H.) led all rebounders with 10.

Endicott (9-4, 5-1 CCC), which won for the sixth straight outing, hosts New England College on Thursday. UNE (5-10, 1-7) has a home game with Wentworth Institute of Technology that same evening.
