Glenside, Pa. — Senior Badou Gaye went over 1,000 career rebounds as Gwynedd-Mercy stayed undefeated in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference play with a 75-69 victory over Arcadia Monday evening.

Standing at 992 career caroms, Gaye grabbed nine boards and added a game-high 27 points to help the Griffins (13-3, 7-0 PAC) to their fifth-straight win.

Senior Jeff Thomas registered 14 points as GMC shot 27-of-53 (50.9%) from the floor.

The Knights' Eric Elliot scored 10 of his team-high 17 points in the first half to help erase a seven-point deficit as the teams ended the period tied at 31-31.

A 15-3 GMC run to start the second stanza opened up into a 46-34 lead with 14:10 remaining.

Arcadia (2-14, 1-6 PAC) rallied, connecting on five three-pointers in the half, but could only get within five points, with the last coming at 72-67 with 26 seconds left.

Free throws by Rick Haas and Chris DelBrocco down the stretch helped to ice the win. Haas added five points and four rebounds while DelBrocco scored nine points and dished out five assists.

Cory Rich chipped in 14 points for Arcadia as teammates Kevin Brown (11 points) and Justin McCuen (10 points) also reached double figures.
