Trinity (14-4, 6-1) led 42-20 at the half after holding Sewanee to just 8-26 (30.8%) shooting to start the game. The visitors were held to 33.9% shooting overall, while Trinity finished at 54.3% shooting - including 16-27 (59.3%) in the first half.
Andy Bates led Trinity with 16 points in the game, hitting 7-11 from the field (2-4 three-pointers), and grabbing four rebounds in 23 minutes of play.
Chad Stroberg hit 3-4 from distance on his way to 15 points, and also finished with four assists and three steals. Peter Murray hit 4-7 from the field and 2-2 from three-point range for 13 points, as well as collecting eight boards.
Sean Devins finished with nine points and 10 rebounds, while Jason Morris had seven points and five assists.
Jason Smith led all players with 20 points for Sewanee, hitting 6-13 from the field and 8-9 from the line. Smith also had five steals and nine boards, while Chris Eddy finished with 15 points.
Trinity shot very well from three-point range once again, hitting 11-19 overall and 6-8 in the opening period.
This Saturday, January 29, Trinity will host Southwestern in a matchup of the two teams currently leading the SCAC with identical 6-1 records. Southwestern defeated Trinity in an earlier matchup, while DePauw defeated Southwestern last weekend.
