The Hawks got off to a sluggish start against Penn State-Altoona and trailed by six going into the half. Hilbert shot just 29% from the field in the first half, and were outrebounded 25-17.
In the second half, Hilbert turned it around, taking only their second lead of the game, 49-47, on a Sean Kenney jumper with 9:59 remaining. The Hawks extended their lead to 11 on a Gioia three-pointer at the 7:02 mark, and held on for the victory.
Glen Ufland (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon) had 10 points off the bench for the Hawks, Kenney added 18 points, and Reyes added a career-high 11 points in the victory. Tyler Franklin led the Lions with 18 points.
