Rocky Mount, N.C. — Sean Newton came off the bench and scored a team-high 18 points to lead Greensboro College (5-11, 1-3 USA South) to a come from behind 83-71 victory at North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday. Newton was 6-8 from the field and converted 4-6 three-pointers for GC.

Newton led five Pride players who tallied in double figures. Daron Williams scored 17, Rodney Blackstock got 16 and had 9 rebounds, James Newman recorded 12 and Brian Holloway added 11 and grabbed 9 rebounds.

The Pride trailed 47-37 at the break. GC then shot 54-percent (13-24) and made 5-9 three-pointers in the second half--where the visitors outscored the Bishops 46-24. The Pride held NCWC to 28 percent shooting (9-32) in the last 20 minutes.

Blackstock hit a jump shot with 4:04 remaining to put GC ahead for good at 71-69. The Pride then outscored NCWC 12-2 the rest of the game.

The Bishops out-rebounded The Pride 41-39. GC, however, passed for a season-high 19 assists and committed just 17 turnovers. Shaun Harris dished a game-high 6 assists for Greensboro.

Lenny Hall scored a game-high 23 points and Ramone Spears scored 19 and had 12 rebounds for NC Wesleyan (6-9, 0-3 USAS).
