SUNY BROCKPORT MEN'S BASKETBALL DOWNS ONEONTA, 106-76
Golden Eagles led by four double figures
BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team defeated Oneonta 106-76 in a SUNYAC basketball game today. The Golden Eagles improve to 9-4 on the season and 3-2 in the SUNYAC, while the Red Dragons fall to 6-10 overall and 2-6 in the conference.
This was Brockport's fourth consecutive win and fourth time hitting the century mark. Brockport opened their season with a 107-52 win over Medaille and then defeated Keuka 111-78 and Roberts Wesleyan 100-81, both in the JPMorgan Chase Tournament.
Brockport was led by four double figure scorers in the victory. Ben Bellucci (Syracuse/CNS) scored 18 points and pulled down six rebounds, while Dave Andrews (Huntington Station/Walt Whitman) and Kellan Skrine (Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta) had 14 points apiece. Brandon Williams (Rochester/Edison Tech.) scored 10 points and had a team high nine rebounds.
The Red Dragons were led by William Heslin with 23 points and Jaysen Murphy with 12 points and a game high 11 rebounds.
Brockport led 42-32 at the half, and outshot Oneonta by 20 points in the second half. The Golden Eagles shot 51% in the second half and had a 57-49 rebounding advantage on the night.
SUNY Brockport returns to action at home on Tuesday, January 25, when they take on Cortland at 8 p.m.
