The Saxons (8-6, 2-1 Empire 8) held Hartwick (2-11, 0-4 Empire 8) to only 50 points in the game, and out-rebounded the Hawks, 44-27.
Sophomore guard Rob McCarter (Wooster, OH/Wooster) finished with a double double, scoring 14 points and gathering 10 rebounds. McCarter also dished out a team-high four assists. Junior guard Quentin Bryant (Buffalo, NY/Seneca Vocational) led the Saxons in scoring with 17 points to go along with six rebounds and two steels.
Tough on the glass was sophomore forward Ryan Clemenson (Ovid, NY/South Seneca) who finished the game with 10 rebounds, while junior forward Ryan Hallett (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) netted nine points and sophomore center Dillon Stein (N. Huntington, PA/Norwin) dropped in eight.
Leading the way for Hartwick was junior guard Tim Kindlon (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) with 11 points, while freshman forward Greg Betancourt (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands) finished with 10.
The men’s basketball team will be in action next on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 4 p.m., home against Utica College.
