The Blue and Gray went on a 22-7 run to close out the first half and take a 31-16 lead into the locker room at the break. The team kept rolling to start the second frame as they went on a 16-0 run build a 49-16 lead with 11:01 remaining in the contest.
Sophomore Kaitlin Mulgrew led USMMA with a team high 13 points, while senior co-captain Renee Sherman scored nine points to go with four rebounds and three assists. Junior Cathleen Williamson, sophomore Marisa Olson and freshman May Marie Hayes tied for the team high in rebounds with eight each on the evening.
Anclin Perez led the Beavers with game-highs in points (16) and rebounds (12) in a losing effort.
Head coach Mike Murray's squad will return to action, weather permitting, on Saturday, January 22, when they host Skyline Conference rival Centenary College at 4:00 p.m. The contest against the visiting Cyclones will be audio webcast on the World Wide Web, as Seth Cantor will provide the play-by-play call.
