WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Behind the momentum of four consecutive three-pointers in a two-minute span in the second half, Grove City defeated the Waynesburg College men's basketball team in conference play, 71-62. The Wolverines and Yellow Jackets shot an astounding 62 and 56 percent in the second half, respectively after combining for just 49 first-half points.PrAC Grove City Wolverines

The four Grove City three-pointers swung a 48-46 Waynesburg lead into a 58-53 Wolverine advantage (12-5 run). The Yellow Jackets couldn't shrink the deficit in the final five minutes of the contest.
Wolverine forward Ryan Eller scored 23 of his game-high 26 points in the second half, including three of three-pointers that swung the game.
Jeff Nero finished with a team-high 15 points and added five rebounds and four steals in the losss. Nero has played 94 of a possible 95 minutes in the two PAC games this season for the Jackets.
Freshman reserve forward Josh Parisi finished with 13 points in extended action to an early game-ending injury to Shawn Coleman. Parisi has scored in double-figures five times this season and is averaging 6.6 points per per game, second highest among the reserves.
Beau Wilson also reached double figures for Waynesburg, finishing with 10 points on 3-of-6 attempts from three-point territory.
Waynesburg (7-9, 1-1) travels to Greenville, Pa. on Saturday, Jan. 22 when it faces Thiel College for a 3 p.m. start. The Yellow Jackets held a 2-1 advantage in the season-series with the Tomcats last season. The deciding game in the series was the 65-62 win in the PAC Quarterfinals when Wilson hit the game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds.
