UW-Platteville 67, UW-Stout 59

Platteville — All-American Brad Reitzner, held scoreless for the first 31 minutes of the game, scored eight points in 53 seconds to spark UW-Platteville's 67-59 comeback win over UW-Stout Wednesday in Williams Fieldhouse.

The 18th-ranked Blue Devils led by as many as 13 points in the first half. They still led 40-37 when the UW-Stout bench was whistled for a technical fall. Reitzner hit both free throws and then three more on the ensuing possession after being fouled on a three-point attempt. After Terry Farmer's layup tied the score at 42-42, Reitzner nailed a three-point shot on the next possession to give the Pioneers the lead for good.

UW-Platteville held off the Blue Devils by making free throws down the stretch. The Pioneers made 25 of 28 from the line for the game.

The Pioneers, who won their fourth straight game, ended the Blue Devils' six-game winning streak. Both teams are now tied for second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with 6-2 records. UW-Stevens Point leads the league with a 7-1 mark.

Brandon Temperly scored a game-high 19 points for the Pioneers (11-5) Mark Gossens made all six of his shots from the field and four from the line to finish with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Reitzner totalled 16 points, while LeVon Crawford added 11.
