WINONA, Mn — Streak hits six, Saint Mary's stumps Ole men

The St. Olaf men's basketball team lost their sixth straight game Wednesday, a 64-54 decision to Saint Mary's University in Winona, Minn.

The Cardinals were 23-for-28 from the line, while the Oles were just 5-of-14 (35.7 percent).

Jeff Tendall had 14 points and three other Cardinals were in double figures in the win for Saint Mary's.

Andy Grimsrud's (Sr., Zumbrota, Minn.) 12 points off the bench led St. Olaf. Erik Sviggum (Sr., Kenyon, Minn.) and Mark Bergstrom (So., Woodbury) added ten points each in the loss.

Saint Mary's outboarded St. Olaf, who was without leading rebounder Jon Bain (So., Austin, Minn.) who is ill, 43-33.

St. Olaf led by 23-22 at the break, and 42-38 with 12:05 to play.

The Cardinals, however, went on a 18-3 run in the next eight minutes to earn their second win of the season.

The Oles (6-10, 2-8) host Augsburg College Saturday at 3 p.m. The game can be heard on the St. Olaf Athletics Website.
