MacMurray 100, Greenville 88JACKSONVILLE, Ill — MacMurray College picked up their first conference win last night as they defeated Greenville in a physical basketball game at Bill Wall Gymnasium 100-88. It was a game of surges with leads as big as 15 and 9 on two occasions, then the lat run that put MacMurray up by 12 as they hit some late game free throws. There were 90 free throws in the game as Greenville was 35-53 and the Highlanders 26-37 and there were 3 technical fouls also. MacMurray had a 50-37 rebounding edge and forced 26 turnovers in the game as they improved to 1-3 in the SLIAC. That matches the Panthers who were led by Martin (23), Foster (19) and Sikma (16) who also added 13 rebounds. Robinson led the Highlanders with 19 points and 11 boards. Kowa scored 15 with 11 rebounds and Eberhart chipped in 12 points and fouled out as he was in the battle down in the paint. Rasmussen led a corps of 6 players in an attack from long range with his 3-5 effort in treys. MacMurray will face Maryville at home on the 22nd as they try for their second conference win.
