Baruch (12-5, 5-2 CUNYAC) trailed 40-29 with 3:39 left in the first half, but entered the intermission with 9-0 run to cut the deficit to two points.
They scored the opening two baskets of the second half for a two-point lead and continued their momentum to lead Staten Island by as much as nine points (58-49) with 9:51 left.
Staten Island (10-6, 5-2 CUNYAC) managed to get as close as three points in the final minutes, but Baruch held on the rest of the way for the big conference victory.
Chris Alesi (18 points, eight assists), Cheick Fadika (13 points, 14 rebounds), Louie Karis (14 points), and John Burzo (10 points) all contributed in the scoring column.
John Smith led Staten Island with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Mike Stewart (14 points), Mike Jones (13 points), and Jason Coke (11 points) also scored in double-figures.
