Lawrence's Jason Holinbeck poured in 23 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the floor, including 6 of 8 on 3-pointers. Kyle MacGillis added 17 points on 5 of 7 shooting and was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Ben Hickethier paced Carroll with 20 points and James Johnson added 14. Lawrence limited Carroll star Jason Scheper to nine points.
Lawrence, ranked 17th in this week's D3hoops.com poll, started the game on fire. Holinbeck made his first six 3-point attempts to help the Vikings to a 44-40 lead at the break. The Vikings shot 57.1 percent in the first half (16-28) and hit 10 of 15 3-pointers (66.7 percent).
Lawrence put some distance between themselves and the talented Pioneers with a 7-0 run, highlighted by MacGillis' 3-pointer and two free throws to finish it.
Lawrence then led 63-52, but Carroll came back to cut the lead to six at 63-57. Lawrence finally put the Pioneers away by going on a 9-2 run to take a 75-61 lead, the Vikings' biggest of the game, with 57 seconds remaining.
Dan Evans scored all five of his points during that run.
Lawrence has now won five straight against the team that finished second in the Midwest Conference a season ago. The Vikings also have climbed into a three-way tie for second place in the league at 4-2.
