Howard Payne 65, Sul Ross State 40

BROWNWOOD, Tx. — Howard Payne Claims 65-40 Win over Lady Lobos

01/17/05- Howard Payne’s Kami Collins and Rachel Offineer tallied 16 and 15 points respectively to aid conference leading Howard Payne to a 65-40 win over Sul Ross Monday evening in Brownwood. The Lady Lobos drop to 2-12 for the season with a 2-8 conference mark while Howard Payne goes to 13-2 for the year and 10-2 in the American Southwest Conference.

Sul Ross continues to struggle in the shooting department as the Lady Lobos mustered 30% from the floor (27% from long range) against their Howard Payne counterparts. Sully nailed 73% of its foul shots for the evening.

Childress native Celeste Perkins led Sul Ross with 10 points while Morgan Johnson (Christoval) pulled down six rebounds.

Monday’s game in Brownwood was the finale of a long and arduous five-game road series. The Lady Lobos will return home Thursday to the Gallego Center as they host Texas Lutheran in a 5:30 p.m. conference game.
