The Aggies (6-8) led throughout the contest until Rick Ferraiolo hit back-to-back baskets for the Griffins (8-7) to tie the game at 40-40 with 12:32 remaining.
However, Delaware Valley responded by scoring 20 of the game’s next 23 points, including seven straight, to open a 60-43 advantage with 7:18 to go. Mike Ezell led the charge with eights points while Orlon Baker and Isaiah Pinckney had six points apiece.
Chestnut Hill tried to make a comeback as a pair of Ferraiolo free throws made it 66-52 with 4:59 to go, but Maurice Slaughter hit three straight buckets for the Aggies to give them the largest lead of the game, 72-52, with 2:20 remaining.
Slaughter led all Delaware Valley players with 14 points while also adding seven rebounds. Mike Zupa notched 13 points while Orlon Baker contributed 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Josh Taylor recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards and Randall Graves added eight assists and five steals.
Isaac Greer paced the Griffins with 18 points and four steals while Ferraiolo and Bolling added 12 and 10 points respectively.
